You're diving into the interior work on your model kit, and it's crucial to get that part right before assembling, puttying, priming, and painting. But one easy procedure that can give that extra bit of realism to your model kit is using a model wash or a panel line wash on the interior to highlight every detail. Here's the process for the interior detailing:

Base Coat: We've used AK Interactive, specifically US Interior Yellow-Green, to paint the interior of our B-17 model kit. This provides the foundational color for the inside of the aircraft.

Gloss Coat: Applying a gloss coat over the base color serves a dual purpose. It not only protects the base layer but also provides a smooth surface for the subsequent use of panel liners. In this case, we used Tamiya Panel Liner Accent Color Dark Brown.

Panel Liner Application: Shake the Tamiya Panel Line Accent Color Dark Brown thoroughly to ensure uniform consistency. The small applicator brush provided within the bottle makes it convenient to apply. Dip the brush lightly into the panel liner without overloading it. Apply it along the panel lines and ribs on the interior surface. The liner flows naturally along these lines, enhancing the definition and depth of the details – so you shouldn’t need to do anything more than just touch the brush to the top of the area you are detailing.

Completion: Once you've applied the panel liner along all the necessary areas, it enhances the visual appeal by accentuating the intricate details inside your kit. This process adds depth to the model, giving it a more realistic and detailed appearance.

The sequence of base coat, gloss coat, and panel line accentuates the interior's details, making it stand out when the model is assembled. It's a meticulous, but simple process that adds depth and realism to the interior components of your model kit.
