The Challenger Mk.3 provides a British armor subject for a compact military vehicle display.

Planning the build

Use a light touch with washes around small fittings and test the camouflage colors before painting. Keep the tracks level against the intended display surface.

Working in 1/72 scale

In this scale, clean alignment and controlled paint layers have a strong effect on the display. Compare the model with companion subjects in the same scale, then judge shading and markings from the normal viewing distance. Keep fine details clear by testing how much paint, wash and final finish you need.

Painting and finishing

Choose the setting before committing to camouflage, markings and weathering. A small painted sample lets you compare the base shade with a wash and the dust or dirt from the planned display. Keep the heaviest deposits where the vehicle or equipment would contact the ground, and check the contrast at normal viewing distance.

Product details

Manufacturer: Academy

Subject: British Army Challenger Mk.3

Scale: 1/72

SKU: ACD13426

Academy kit number: 13426

Format: Model Kit

Before starting

Check the box and instructions for the exact contents and any required supplies.
