A controlled base palette and restrained panel contrast help preserve the recognizable screen design. Test paint and clear-coat combinations on spare material before applying them to a visible surface.

Work from the instructions and reference images when deciding how much weathering or surface contrast to use. Clean studio-style spacecraft and heavily used screen vehicles call for different finishes. Leave enough room to handle the model during painting, and protect clear parts and joining surfaces as the assemblies come together.

Browse the complete AMT Models collection and AMT Star Trek Model Kits.
