Description
The “Bär” was a proposed German design of the Sturmpanzer, first conceived in 1942. Though it was never produced, it got far enough in conception and design that a complete set of plans for the vehicle was found after the war. Powered by a 12-cylinder engine producing 700hp, the Bär was armed with a 30.5cm L/16 gun within the armored superstructure in the back of the hull. A self-propelled vehicle, the Bär took technology from various existing German tanks, including the Panzer IV and Jagdpanzer.
