Description
HMS Kent is a Royal Navy heavy cruiser, the first ship in the Kent class, which is a subtype of the County class. Upon completion the ship was sent to China. In late 1939 she could be found in the eastern Indian Ocean participating in the hunt for the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. She was transferred to the Mediterranean in mid-1940, but shortly after arriving was torpedoed and then repaired for a year. After the repairs were completed she remained in service with the local fleet and intercepted enemies in fleet guarding tasks. The ship retired in 1946.
