Description
The Curtiss P-40 series of fighter aircraft saw extensive action on all fronts during WWII as the workhorse of the fighter air contingents of not only the US Army Air Corps but the rest of the Allied air forces as well. The N version was the last production model of the series as well as the model which saw the greatest numbers in production. Designed for reduced weight, this version was the fastest of the series, and a redesigned canopy providing improved rear field vision made it the last and best of the P-40s. It saw action mainly in the Pacific against Japan.
