Description
The Polikarpov U-2 is one of the most numerous and famous aircraft in world aviation history. It was designed as a basic training aircraft. The maiden flight was in June 1927 and in the early 1930s it became the real ‘flying deck’ for thousands of Soviet pilots. During WWII U-2’s were successfully used as liaison and light cargo aircraft. In 1944, after NN Polikarpov’s death, the plane was renamed Po-2.
