Andy's Hobby Headquarters 1/16 M113A1/M113A1 ACAV Armored Personnel Carrier (2 in 1)

Andy's Hobby Headquarters 1/16 M113A1/M113A1 ACAV Armored Personnel Carrier gives you two configuration choices in one model kit. Build the M113A1 personnel carrier or select the ACAV arrangement for a different appearance around the vehicle’s upper fighting positions. This is one kit with alternative build options, not two complete vehicles.

Choose Your M113 Configuration

The source description identifies the M113A1 as the diesel-powered development of the earlier M113. Its personnel-carrier role and the added weapon protection of the ACAV configuration offer two different directions for planning your model. Decide which version you want before assembly so the build and paint sequence follow the appropriate instructions.

Interior Detail and Display Choices

The supplied kit description includes interior detail, a figure for the .50-caliber position and hatches that can be assembled open or closed. Plan which areas will remain visible before joining the larger assemblies. An open-hatch display gives you a reason to spend time on the interior, while a closed presentation can concentrate attention on the exterior finish and vehicle profile.

Plan a Large-Scale Armor Project

At 1/16 scale, the model calls for more display space than a typical 1/35 armor project. Consider the completed arrangement before starting, especially if you want a base or a figure-focused scene. Use reference photographs of the version you intend to represent when planning the colors, markings and level of wear.

Read the assembly sequence before separating parts, identify areas that need paint before installation and test the finishing products you plan to combine. Choose a clean presentation or a weathered appearance deliberately rather than adding every effect at once.
