Building and finishing

Dry-fit the body, chassis and visible engine components before painting. Check wheel alignment and keep access to areas that need detail work before the final joins. Light coats preserve molded detail, while selected metallic finishes help separate the frame, induction and exhaust components in the finished display.

Work from the kit instructions and the intended racing subject rather than assuming that all competition releases contain the same optional parts. Plan decal placement around body contours, and allow paint and clear coats to cure before handling the visible surfaces during final assembly.
