MCW Finishes Candy Apple Red - MCW6630E

MCW Finishes Candy Apple Red - MCW6630E is part of the MCW Finishes range at MegaHobby. Use Candy Apple Red when it matches the finish you want for a model car body, custom project or road-vehicle detail. Compare the named shade with the paint scheme and any period references before choosing your base.

At the workbench

Use a spoon or spare body panel to test the complete finish. Plan primer, color, any effect coat and clear together, then compare the dry appearance under the lighting where you will display the model.

Preparing the paint

Stir the paint thoroughly and prepare a small sample over a compatible primer. For airbrushing, follow MCW’s enamel instructions when choosing reducer and adjusting the mix. Test the spray pattern before painting the model, and let the sample dry before judging the color and final sheen.

Build the finish around your intended result. A uniform body color, a camouflage layer and a small brush-painted detail each call for a different amount of coverage. Check how your chosen wash, decal treatment or clear behaves on the sample before adding it to the finished piece.
