MCW Finishes Pontiac Engine Blue (pre 66) - MCW1403E

MCW Finishes Pontiac Engine Blue (pre 66) - MCW1403E is part of the MCW Finishes range at MegaHobby. Use Pontiac Engine Blue (pre 66) for the engine or component named in your reference. Compare the color and year information with the specific vehicle you are building before painting the assembly.

At the workbench

Paint the block and smaller details separately where assembly allows. Subtle differences between painted metal, bare hardware and rubber help the finished engine remain readable under the bodywork.

Preparing the paint

Stir the paint thoroughly and prepare a small sample over a compatible primer. For airbrushing, follow MCW’s enamel instructions when choosing reducer and adjusting the mix. Test the spray pattern before painting the model, and let the sample dry before judging the color and final sheen.

Build the finish around your intended result. A uniform body color, a camouflage layer and a small brush-painted detail each call for a different amount of coverage. Check how your chosen wash, decal treatment or clear behaves on the sample before adding it to the finished piece.
