MCW Finishes CSX YN2 Blue - MCWTRN1007E is part of the MCW Finishes range at MegaHobby. Choose CSX YN2 Blue for a project calling for the named railroad shade. Compare the locomotive or car’s date and paint scheme with photographs, then test the color beside your planned lettering and striping.
At the workbench
Test the color over the same primer and beside your planned lettering or decals. Use consistent lighting when comparing related shades, and check any final clear on the sample before coating the model.
Preparing the paint
Stir the paint thoroughly and prepare a small sample over a compatible primer. For airbrushing, follow MCW’s enamel instructions when choosing reducer and adjusting the mix. Test the spray pattern before painting the model, and let the sample dry before judging the color and final sheen.
Build the finish around your intended result. A uniform body color, a camouflage layer and a small brush-painted detail each call for a different amount of coverage. Check how your chosen wash, decal treatment or clear behaves on the sample before adding it to the finished piece.
