Vee Hobby USS South Dakota BB-57 1944 Standard 1/700 Model Kit - VEE7005S

Build the USS South Dakota BB-57 1944 with this Vee Hobby 1/700 Standard Edition plastic ship model kit. South Dakota’s compact battleship proportions make for a clear comparison with an Iowa-class kit. In a 1944 fleet display, the ship can serve as the centerpiece of a group with a carrier and its screening ships.

Working with the Standard edition

Start with the Standard release if you want to plan the finish and decide separately where to add fine detail. Check the instructions for the parts supplied with this specific kit. Compare the Deluxe edition (VEE7005E) when deciding which version to build.

Build and display notes

Dry-fit the superstructure to check access to the deck between platforms. Paint areas that will sit under overhangs before gluing down the upper assemblies. In a fleet display, leave room around the hull so the deck layout reads clearly from above.
