Plan your AMT project

Plan the vehicle as a complete display, coordinating the body or cab, interior, chassis and running gear. A clean restored finish and a restrained working-vehicle appearance are both possible approaches. Check the exact configuration before choosing a trailer, payload or companion model, because those items are release-specific rather than automatic inclusions.

Building and finishing

Dry-fit the frame, suspension and wheels on a flat surface before final assembly. Check the stance and leave access to difficult-to-reach mechanical areas during painting. Separate finishing of the cab and chassis can help keep small details readable. Keep adhesive-contact surfaces clear where the instructions require a firm bond.

Reserve enough space for the completed model and any separately obtained trailer or display accessories. Use the actual kit instructions when deciding the assembly order and painting plan. Subtle variation between tires, chassis and body finishes can add visual depth without making every surface heavily weathered.
