Careful Part Removal for Scale Models
Removing a part from its runner is an early step in preserving the detail of a model kit. Position the jaws so you can see the attachment point and support the part as needed. Use the cutter within its stated plastic and wire limits rather than assuming every sprue tool can cut metal.
After separation, inspect the attachment area and finish any remaining nub with an appropriate modeling tool. A clean cut can reduce cleanup, but the shape and delicacy of the part still determine how it should be approached.
