Academy P-8A Poseidon USN 1/144 Scale Model Kit

Academy P-8A Poseidon USN 1/144 Scale Model Kit brings P-8A Poseidon USN to your workbench in 1/144 scale. The Poseidon brings a maritime-aircraft subject to a collection of military jets and transports.

Planning the build

Keep the long fuselage seam smooth and the wings level. Plan a restrained panel treatment so the gray finish reads clearly across the larger airframe.

Working in 1/144 scale

This compact scale makes it possible to compare large airframes without a full-size display case. Focus on the major outline, wing alignment and the placement of markings. Plan the paint layers so smaller surface features stay visible, and check the finish from a little farther away as well as close up.

Kit features

• Weapons bay and landing gear bay that can be built open or closed
• AGM-84 Harpoon anti-ship missiles and MK54 Torpedoes
• Detailed interior weapons bay
• Can be assembled with five MK54 Torpedoes
• Detailed cockpit features realistic instrument panel, well contoured seats, control sticks & back plate
• Can be assembled with up to four pylons on the wings

Painting and markings

Choose the marking option in the instructions before selecting colors. Test the primer and base color on a spare piece, then compare any panel wash or highlight against that sample. Plan masks for glazing and sharp color boundaries before the final assembly makes access more difficult.
