Vee Hobby USS Iowa BB-61 Standard 1/700 Model Kit - VEE7001S

Build the USS Iowa BB-61 with this Vee Hobby 1/700 Standard Edition plastic ship model kit. The lead ship of the Iowa class gives this model its long, narrow profile and three main battery turrets. At 1/700, the ship makes an anchor for a fast battleship group without taking up the shelf space of a larger scale.

Working with the Standard edition

Start with the Standard release if you want to plan the finish and decide separately where to add fine detail. Check the instructions for the parts supplied with this specific kit. Compare the Deluxe edition (VEE7001E) when deciding which version to build.

Build and display notes

Build up the bridge and funnels as separate assemblies. Check turret alignment against the centerline, and keep the long deck seam smooth before applying the deck finish. In a fleet display, leave room around the hull so the deck layout reads clearly from above.
