Vee Hobby USS Independence CVL-22 Standard 1/700 Model Kit - VEE7024S

Build the USS Independence CVL-22 with this Vee Hobby 1/700 Standard Edition plastic ship model kit. Independence represents the U.S. light carrier developed from a cruiser hull. Its long flight deck and offset island make a clear visual contrast with a gun-armed cruiser of the same scale. It works well as the center of a compact carrier group with escorts.

Working with the Standard edition

Start with the Standard release if you want to plan the finish and decide separately where to add fine detail. Check the instructions for the parts supplied with this specific kit. Compare the Deluxe edition (VEE7024E) when deciding which version to build.

Build and display notes

Check that the flight deck sits flat before detailing the island. Plan deck markings before installing parts that will obstruct masking, and use thin paint coats to keep small surface details visible. In a fleet display, leave room around the hull so the deck layout reads clearly from above.
