Low-Temperature Soft Solder

The manufacturer lists a melting point of 275°F. Plan the joint around the materials being joined, their surface preparation and the directions for the solder and flux. A low melting point does not guarantee that adjacent plastic, paint, adhesive or other details can tolerate the heat involved.

Prepare a Controlled Work Area

Check how the parts will be held and how the joint will be reached before heating. Use a suitable test assembly to practice the process before working on a detailed model or a finished component. Keep the intended joint accessible and allow for the cleanup required by the products you select.
