Academy Space Shuttle & Boeing 747 Carrier 1/288 Scale Model Kit

Academy Space Shuttle & Boeing 747 Carrier 1/288 Scale Model Kit brings Space Shuttle & Boeing 747 Carrier to your workbench in 1/288 scale. The shuttle subject contrasts broad white and dark surfaces, making the overall finish and alignment important to the display.

Planning the build

Plan the white base and dark boundaries on a sample before masking the model. Keep paint layers fine at the edges of the windows and panel details.

Working in 1/288 scale

Use the stated scale when comparing the completed model with other subjects. For a ship, the hull length and arrangement of the decks can vary greatly between vessels in the same scale. Plan the display before assembly and use fine paint layers around smaller fittings to preserve their definition.

Painting and markings

Choose the marking option in the instructions before selecting colors. Test the primer and base color on a spare piece, then compare any panel wash or highlight against that sample. Plan masks for glazing and sharp color boundaries before the final assembly makes access more difficult.
