Academy da Vinci Paddleboat Mechanical Model Kit brings da Vinci Paddleboat to your workbench. The paddleboat turns the relationship between gearing and paddle rotation into the subject of the model. It offers a different mechanical project from a conventional static ship kit.
Planning the build
Follow the drive assembly sequence carefully and check that the paddles turn freely. Use the instructions to establish how the completed mechanism should be operated.
Following the mechanism
Lay out the pieces in the order shown by the instructions and identify the joints that must move. Check the relationship between each assembly before advancing to the next step. A clean, well-aligned mechanism helps you follow the path of movement on the completed display, so test it gently as the build develops.
Assembly and presentation
Read the assembly sequence before applying any finish. Test the moving parts at each stage and keep the mechanism accessible during the build. Follow the kit’s instructions for setup and operation so you can see how the completed parts work together.
