Plan the finish around your model

For an early-war armor build, start with photographs and references for the specific vehicle and unit. Paint schemes varied, and a themed set is a useful palette rather than proof that every included shade belongs on every vehicle. Plan camouflage, markings and metallic details separately so your paint choices follow the subject you are modeling.

Mix each color thoroughly before use and follow the bottle label for application, compatible thinner and cleanup. Test your planned paint and finishing products on a spare surface before applying them to the model. Build up the finish in controlled stages, allowing suitable drying time before masking, decals or subsequent coats.
