Alclad II Aluminium (ALC101) is a 1 oz metallic lacquer finish for scale-model airbrushing. A balanced aluminum-toned metallic finish for natural-metal aircraft panels, machinery and unpainted model details. It is a useful starting shade for a multi-tone metallic finish.
Appearance and best applications
Use it for broad aluminum skin areas and metal parts where a natural metallic look is needed rather than a mirror-like chrome effect.
Choosing this finish
Compare with Duraluminium (ALC102) for a different aluminum shade or Dark Aluminium (ALC103) for deeper panel contrast.
Surface preparation and application
A clean, smooth, properly prepared surface helps metallic finishes show their intended appearance. Airbrush in light, controlled passes, and test the finish on spare material before coating a completed model.
