Release features

• CLASSIC SHIP: STAR TREK: The Original Series featured characters like Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy and Mr. Spock, but their ship, the U.S.S. Enterprise, became just as indelible as the characters.
• CLASSIC KIT: Scale modelers have been building this classic kit of the U.S.S. Enterprise since the beginning, but it’s modern updates to the tooling and decal sheet make the building experience better than ever.
• GREAT FOR BEGINNERS: The low part count and easy-to-follow assembly instructions make this glue-together model kit a great one for newbies and experienced modelers alike.

Plan your AMT project

Plan the finished model around the screen subject, the intended scale and the available display space. Related spacecraft can differ in size and configuration even when they share a series name. Use the exact release details and decoration guide to select the appropriate arrangement, then check how the model will sit on its display support.

Building and finishing

Test-fit prominent seams and review the sequence for clear parts, internal pieces and any optional display components before joining major sections. A controlled base palette and restrained panel contrast help preserve the recognizable screen design. Test paint and clear-coat combinations on spare material before applying them to a visible surface.

Work from the instructions and reference images when deciding how much weathering or surface contrast to use. Clean studio-style spacecraft and heavily used screen vehicles call for different finishes. Leave enough room to handle the model during painting, and protect clear parts and joining surfaces as the assemblies come together.
