MCW Finishes Orange Rust - MCW10086E

MCW Finishes Orange Rust - MCW10086E is part of the MCW Finishes range at MegaHobby. Use Orange Rust when it matches the finish you want for a model car body, custom project or road-vehicle detail. Compare the named shade with the paint scheme and any period references before choosing your base.

At the workbench

Apply the rust tone locally around wear, joints and exposed hardware. Vary the intensity and compare it with the underlying paint. Use a test piece to check how any later wash or clear changes the appearance.

Preparing the paint

Stir the paint thoroughly and prepare a small sample over a compatible primer. For airbrushing, follow MCW’s enamel instructions when choosing reducer and adjusting the mix. Test the spray pattern before painting the model, and let the sample dry before judging the color and final sheen.

Build the finish around your intended result. A uniform body color, a camouflage layer and a small brush-painted detail each call for a different amount of coverage. Check how your chosen wash, decal treatment or clear behaves on the sample before adding it to the finished piece.
