Microscale Micro Coat Clear Finishes

Choose Microscale Micro Coat Flat, Gloss or Satin to plan the sheen of your model finish. Explore the range by task and plan how each product fits into your build, decal and finishing sequence.

Match the sheen to the subject

Gloss, Satin and Flat create different visual effects. Think about the modeled material, the subject’s condition and how you want the final display to look. Test a clear coat over the actual paint and decal combination before using it on a finished model, and follow the product directions for application.

Plan the finish as a series of steps

A convincing model finish begins before the final coat. Prepare a clean surface, identify the materials you are working with and allow each stage to dry or cure as directed. Test the combination of paint, decals and finishing products on spare material so a compatibility issue is easier to spot before it reaches the model.

Railroad rolling stock, aircraft, cars, military vehicles and miniature displays can all involve markings, clear parts or mixed surface finishes. Let the actual task guide the choice of product. Avoid applying an adhesive where a setting solution is needed or assuming a mask is compatible with every paint.

Keep the right instructions with the product

Use the bottle directions for application, cleanup and material compatibility. Product names and similar packaging do not mean the liquids share the same working method. The individual listings explain the role of each item so you can compare them before ordering.
