Explore Moebius 2001: A Space Odyssey models featuring Discovery One, the Orion III Space Clipper and HAL 9000. The collection offers several ways to represent the film, from compact spacecraft models to large display projects and a full-size computer faceplate. Compare scale and completed size before choosing the centerpiece for your display.
Choose the right Moebius release
The larger and smaller spacecraft releases are different products rather than simple packaging variations. Discovery One is represented in 1/144 and 1/350 scales, while Orion III appears here in 1/72 and 1/350 formats. HAL is a 1/1 faceplate model with an LED eye feature. Check each listing for the exact subject, scale and assembly needs rather than assuming every film model forms a common-scale set.
Plan the finish and display
A controlled palette suits the film spacecraft. Use references and the kit guide to plan panel contrast and markings without overpowering the clean forms. Long assemblies benefit from a careful support and handling plan. Review the instructions before joining sections, especially where clear parts, internal details or the display arrangement need attention before final closure.
