Choose the range for the task

The X range provides solid colors, metallic effects, transparent colors and finishing products. X-18 is semi-gloss and X-21 is a flattening additive, so the whole range should not be described simply as gloss paint. Read the specific bottle designation and plan the final sheen deliberately.

Test the complete finish

Prepare a sample using the primer, color and final coating you intend to combine. Evaluate the dried appearance before masking or adding decals. The underlying surface and final sheen affect the result, and a familiar color name does not guarantee an exact match across different paint systems.

A model car body, aircraft camouflage finish, military vehicle interior or scenic detail can call for different tools and application methods. Begin with the subject and the actual materials, then choose the products for preparation, application and cleanup. Follow each product’s directions for compatibility and drying or curing time.
