Tamiya XF Acrylic Paints

Shop Tamiya XF Acrylic Paints at MegaHobby. Compare the available products by range, application and the role they will play in your next scale-model project.

Choose the range for the task

XF paints offer many subdued colors used for aircraft, armor, interiors and scenic work. The range also includes XF-86 Flat Clear. Choose the color against references for the subject and period, and use a test sample to judge the effect under your intended lighting.

Test the complete finish

Prepare a sample using the primer, color and final coating you intend to combine. Evaluate the dried appearance before masking or adding decals. The underlying surface and final sheen affect the result, and a familiar color name does not guarantee an exact match across different paint systems.

Plan the workbench sequence

A model car body, aircraft camouflage finish, military vehicle interior or scenic detail can call for different tools and application methods. Begin with the subject and the actual materials, then choose the products for preparation, application and cleanup. Follow each product’s directions for compatibility and drying or curing time.
