Sci-Fi Model Updates, Decals & Lighting

Take spacecraft and science-fiction projects beyond the original kit with Updates, Decals & Lighting from MegaHobby. Aftermarket products give sci-fi builders additional ways to refine details, change markings, add illuminated features and customize fictional machines for more elaborate displays.

Science-fiction modeling offers unusual freedom for aftermarket work. A builder can reproduce a familiar spacecraft more closely, add details omitted from the original kit or create an interpretation that is completely unique.

Science Fiction Model Update Parts

Update components can provide additional detailing opportunities for spacecraft, vehicles and other futuristic subjects. Depending on the individual product, upgrades may refine existing areas of a model or add components not included in the original kit.

Sci-Fi Model Decals

Additional decals can change the markings and visual identity of a science-fiction model. They can supplement kit markings, provide alternate graphics or support a more extensively customized project.

Lighting for Spacecraft & Sci-Fi Models

Lighting can dramatically change the presentation of a suitable science-fiction model. Illuminated engines, windows and other features can help recreate the appearance of a fictional spacecraft or add another visual layer to a custom display.

Lighting projects may require additional planning during construction because wiring and components often need to be incorporated before major assemblies are permanently closed. Builders fabricating custom electrical features can explore Wiring and Motors, Gears and Lights.

Star Wars, Star Trek & Science Fiction Projects

Find projects for aftermarket upgrades in Science Fiction Models, Star Wars Models and Star Trek Models.

Mecha builders can also explore Gundam Models, while builders interested in real spacecraft can visit Space Models.

Tools, Paint & Custom Fabrication

Aftermarket modifications can involve cutting, drilling, fitting and custom fabrication. Browse Tools & Supplies for precision equipment and Scratch Building for styrene, tubing, structural shapes and wiring.

Finish the project with primers, model paints and clear coats from the Paint Store or add operational wear with Weathering Products.

From alternate markings and additional details to illuminated engines and windows, MegaHobby's Updates, Decals & Lighting collection gives science-fiction builders more ways to transform a standard kit into a distinctive display model.
