Alclad II Dark Aluminium (ALC103) is a 1 oz metallic lacquer finish for scale-model airbrushing. A deeper aluminum metallic tone suited to shaded panels, engine surrounds, and darker natural-metal details.
Appearance and best applications
It provides contrast against brighter aluminum shades without switching to an unrelated steel or gunmetal appearance.
Choosing this finish
Use alongside Aluminium (ALC101) and Duraluminium (ALC102) when building a varied natural-metal finish.
Surface preparation and application
A clean, smooth, properly prepared surface helps metallic finishes show their intended appearance. Airbrush in light, controlled passes, and test the finish on spare material before coating a completed model. High-shine finishes may need a different base-coat preparation than regular metallics; follow the instructions for the particular finish.
