Aircraft Diorama Details

Aircraft Diorama Details & Scale Aviation Accessories

Give a finished aircraft a setting with Aircraft Diorama Details from MegaHobby. Diorama accessories can transform a stand-alone airplane model into part of a larger aviation scene by adding supporting details around the aircraft.

An aircraft displayed in context can represent a maintenance area, flight line, airfield or another aviation setting depending on the subject and accessories selected. Small surrounding details help establish scale and provide visual context for the aircraft itself.

Build an Aircraft Display Scene

Start with a project from the Model Aircraft department, then explore aftermarket options in Model Aircraft Detail Parts.

Builders can use Aircraft Update Sets to enhance the aircraft itself and Aircraft Decals to reproduce specific markings before placing the finished model into a larger scene.

From Stand-Alone Model to Aviation Diorama

A diorama changes the way an aircraft model is viewed. Instead of presenting only the airplane, the surrounding details can suggest where the aircraft is located, what is happening around it and how the subject fits into a larger environment.

The amount of scenery can be as simple or elaborate as the builder wants. A few carefully selected accessories can add context without overwhelming the aircraft, while a larger display can develop into a complete airfield or maintenance scene.

Scratch-Build Custom Aircraft Details

Builders who cannot find a particular feature as a ready-made accessory can explore Scratch Building for styrene, structural shapes, tubing, wiring and other materials useful for fabricating custom details.

Scratch building can be especially useful when recreating a specific airfield feature, structure or piece of support equipment for which a commercial model is unavailable.

Paint & Weather Aviation Dioramas

A convincing scene benefits from consistent finishing across the aircraft, accessories and surrounding environment. Visit the Paint Store for primers, model paints and finishing products.

Explore Weathering Products for materials used to create dirt, stains, fading, grime and other effects that can visually connect the aircraft with the environment around it.
