Aircraft Update Sets

Aircraft Update Sets & Scale Model Airplane Upgrades

Enhance scale airplane projects with Aircraft Update Sets from MegaHobby. Aftermarket update sets give aviation modelers additional options for improving visible details, modifying kit components or reproducing a particular aircraft configuration beyond what is supplied in the original box.

Aircraft contain many areas where extra detail can make a difference, from cockpits and airframes to engines, landing gear and other mechanical features. The exact contents vary by product, allowing builders to choose upgrades suited to the specific kit and project.

Upgrade Scale Aircraft Kits

Browse Model Aircraft for projects in 1/72, 1/48, 1/32 and other scales, then return to Model Aircraft Detail Parts for the complete aftermarket aircraft selection.

Builders creating a specific aircraft can also explore Aircraft Decals for alternate markings and Aircraft Diorama Details for display accessories and aviation scenery.

Detail Cockpits, Airframes & Mechanical Areas

Depending on the individual product, an update set may concentrate on a particular area of the aircraft or provide a broader group of replacement and supplemental components. These products give builders another option when kit-supplied details do not match the level of refinement desired for the project.

Always check that an aftermarket set is intended for the specific kit, scale or aircraft version you are building before beginning modifications.

Tools for Aircraft Aftermarket Parts

Precision upgrades can require careful cutting, fitting, drilling and sanding. Visit Tools & Supplies for modeling equipment, including Cutting Tools, Drills and Bits, and Filing & Sanding products.

Small components can also benefit from Holding and Gripping Tools and Magnifiers during assembly and finishing.

Paint & Finish Aircraft Upgrades

Once aftermarket parts are integrated into the model, visit the Paint Store for primers, model paints and finishing products. Builders working with sprayed finishes can explore Airbrushing for airbrushes, compressors and accessories.

From a targeted improvement to a highly detailed aircraft build, MegaHobby's Aircraft Update Sets give aviation modelers more options for refining the finished airplane.
