Use real metal selectively
Foil can bring a different appearance to small trim pieces and selected panels. Chrome finishes suit many plated automotive details, while Matte Aluminum offers a less reflective look. Gold and Black Chrome provide additional options when the references or design call for them. Choose the finish for the part you are representing, not simply the overall model category.
Preparation makes the detail convincing
Take care of seams, surface texture and dust before adding a final metallic detail. Thin foil follows the surface beneath it, so uneven preparation can remain visible. Plan smaller sections around panel boundaries and trim lines, and test the application on a spare piece before working on a finished model.
When using polish or adhesive, follow the bottle directions for compatible surfaces and application. Paints, clear parts and bare plastic may respond differently. A small test is useful before applying a product near a highly visible finish or delicate detail.
